1750 has been spent with South Derbyshire School Sports partnership

  • £500 of this money will allow our school to take part in south Derbyshire based competitions and events throughout the course of the year.
  • £1250 of this will provide our staff with up to date CPD courses and training to ensure all staff are confident in delivering high quality PE sessions.

£4000 – This has been spent with Derby County Community Trust, below is a list of the many opportunities that they will be providing next year for our children and staff.

  • Rainbow room coaching sessions. Coaches work alongside the class teacher to ensure that the individual needs of our children are catered for and that they have a fun, active and inclusive session.
  • Funded afterschool clubs. We provide our children with the chance to take part in afterschool clubs to promote an active and healthy lifestyle out of school hours.
  • Lunchtime Coaching. Three times a week a coach provides our children with lunchtime games that promote leadership and team work. Our midday supervisors also use this as an opportunity to extend their knowledge of fun and engaging games.
  • Sports Day. Four members of Derby County staff are going to attend our school sport day; to help run activities and to inspire the children to lead an active lifestyle.
  • Additional support will be provided to children to promote gross motor and fine motor skills through the Every Child a Mover programme.

£2000 has been allocated to create a vegetable garden, providing each class with their own plot to grow vegetables and develop an understanding of how to make healthy food choices and have a healthy lifestyle.

We will also assess the needs of our school throughout the year and spend the remaining money to replenish resources, provide enrichment days and further opportunities for the children to be active.

We will also be looking at classroom areas and how to increase children’s access to physical opportunities within lesson times, not just during PE sessions.
