Elmsleigh has a very proactive nurture programme, run by Tina Arckless.
This programme of positive play and intervention helps young people with any short or long term emotional needs. Positive Play is part of the Derbyshire County councils’ behaviour support service Early Intervention Strategy, that aims to raise the self-esteem of children and young people, helping them to access the curriculum and so achieve their potential.
The programme is delived in a sensory area we call ‘Hannahs Hideout’ with our trained Positive Play worker, Mrs Arckless, through a series of structures activities and play, as play is a medium which helps children and young people make sense of their world.
