Mrs K. Burton
Hi, my name is Karen Burton and I started here at the outstanding Elmsleigh Infant school in September 2013. I absolutely LOVE being the Headteacher at this unique school. The children of Elmsleigh are a joy to work with and make me so proud! I live in Burton with my husband and two little girls, Sophie and Claudia so my weekends are taken up doing mummy things! We love to travel and spending time together as a family.
Mrs L. Mansfield – Reception class teacher (Currently on Maternity Leave!)
Hi I’m Laura. I work in our Foundation Stage in reception and I love my job! The best part is seeing the children’s smiles every day :-). I enjoy visiting sunny beaches with my husband, where I attempt to surf! I love spending time with my family and friends and I am a big fan of a cuppa tea and a biscuit!
Mrs E. Collins-Deputy Head & Year 2 Class Teacher (Zebras)
My name is Ellen Collins and I am very proud to say I have been working at this unique school since 2003. Teaching is my passion and I feel honoured each day to make such a difference to children’s lives. I live with my husband and have a son called Arthur. In my spare time I love to eat out, shop, travel, go to the theatre, watch films and socialise with my friends and family.
Miss L. Redhead – Nursery class teacher (Busy Bees)
I have been teaching since 2010, having gained my teaching degree in York. Apart from being a teacher, my other passion is travelling and just before joining Elmsleigh I taught children aged 2-6 years old in Thailand. Be warned if you ever ask me about Thailand I may talk for hours
I have a particular interest in Arts, Crafts and vintage and I love to make things.
You will often find me enjoying a cake and a cuppa with friends and family at the weekend.
I absolutely love teaching in the Busy Bees.
Miss K. Marratt – Reception class teacher (Butterflies)
Hello! I’m Miss Marratt and I am the teacher in the Butterflies class. I have been teaching since 2013 and working at Elmsleigh and I love it! The staff and the children are great fun to work with and I really enjoy teaching my class every day. In my spare time when I am not in school, I like to go shopping and spend time with my family and friends. Also, I LOVE horse riding!
Mrs J. Clamp – Year 2 class teacher (Tigers)
I have taught at Elmsleigh now for 25 years, 5 of which I worked for Derbyshire Advisory Service for literacy and as a Key Stage One SAT’s moderator.
I’m an animal lover and as well as keeping a geriatric golden retriever I have been known to rescue the occasional hen or unwanted dog.
In my spare time I’m a soloist with Derby Rock Choir, I like growing vegetables on my allotment, ten pin bowling and dabbling in zentangles.
Mrs S. Cull – Rainbow Room class teacher
I’m Mrs Cull. I have been part of the Elmsleigh team since 2009. I currently teach in Rainbow room, our enhanced resource classroom. I am also co-ordinator for Art and on the Friends of Elmsleigh fundraising team. At home I live with my husband Rob, our daughter Lowri and our dog Lacey. I enjoy weekends away with family and friends, creative projects and pub lunches!
